Summer Camps (Ages 6-14)

Get ready to join scienceSeeds for a summer of exploration and wonder at the best STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) and Maker camps Princeton has to offer. Most Princeton area science camps use canned curriculum but at scienceSeeds we develop our own curriculum with your child in mind.

From Harry Potter Science and Star Wars Science to computer-aided design and video game programming, 3D Printing and robotics, our camps are sure to get your children excited about science, technology, and engineering.

Since almost all of our camps involve hands-on activities, children will take home many projects.

Additional Information:

  • Our camp hours are 9:00am-3:30pm unless otherwise noted
    • Our half-day camps allow children to experiment with more than one subject area at a time
  • We offer extended care (early drop-off 8:00am and/or late pickup 5:30pm) for an additional fee
  • Our Camp locations are specified in the camp descriptions
    • All camps marked scienceSeeds main are offered at 29 Emmons Drive – Suite G10
  • Email us with any additional questions or concerns

Please Note:

We love teaching and working with all your children. However, in fairness to our instructors and to all our families who participate in our programs, please do not register your child for a summer program if he or she  does not meet the minimum age criteria on the first day of camp. If you aren’t sure whether or not your child is eligible to participate in a program, please check with our staff. Our age criteria help ensure that all campers have a great and fulfilling experience.

Fun with Robotics (Ages 7-10)

This class is the perfect introduction to Robotics for your child! We will introduce your children to programming through the use of various robots including the LEGO WeDo kits, Cubettos, Martys, mBots, Cubettos which they will use to design and build robots. The robots each child uses will depend on the age and ability of the student.

Children work in teams honing their skills while learning to work as part of a larger group. Students will learn basic programming skills as part of this class, as well as basic engineering facts about robots and where they are used. The programming languages we use have a graphical user interface, and basic concepts such as flow charts, loops, conditionals and structured programming will be introduced.

In addition, children are guided through hands-on experiments where they learn about robots, how they work, where they are used. We will build different robots and experiment with robotic components.

ENGINEERING Buildings, Bridges and Marble Runs (Ages 7-11)

Calling all Engineers and Architects! Join us for a week of hands-on fun as we learn about forces such as tension, compression, torsion. We will discuss various types of load and challenge you to build strong, tall structures out of a variety of materials. We will travel back to medieval times as we examine castle structures and their fortifications. We will build our own structures and then explore and engineer contraptions to breach them. We will experiment with such diverse building materials as paper, straws, wood and even spaghetti. Students will learn to identify different bridge designs and construction materials used in modern day engineering. Finally, time permitting we will make our very own wooden marble runs.

Campers  will work both individually and in teams to create structures which will be tested to see how well they survive under different natural conditions.

  • Camp Hours:9:00am-3:30pm
  • Early drop-off/late pickup available.

STEM Challenges (Ages 6-9)

Join us for a week of endless challenges and fun. From solving mysteries to designing games see how  Science, Technology, Engineering and Math is used in everything we do. You'll experiment with cracking codes and programming, hone your survival skills using engineering to survive a Zombie Apocalypse, design and solve puzzles,  discover math magic, use chemistry to investigate well known myths, use your powers of deduction to solve a mystery, learn about simple  circuits and experiment with Little Bits, discover how periscopes work and much more. Come see what you can make and invent. This camp is very open ended. Projects and topics will depend on the age of the participants.

Discovering Making and S.T.E.A.M through Art (for Girls only ages 6-10)

Leonardo Da Vinci was both a great scientist and artist. Albert Einstein was not only a scientist but also an accomplished violinist. Beatrix Potter wrote but was a natural scientist. However today science and art separate and many believe that science is analytical while art is creative. We believe that both scientists and artists try to explain the world we live in and that their two worlds intersect all the time. From the chemistry and physics of colors to how our brains works, join us as we connect the dots and bridge the gap.

This camp is a hands-on project based camp that will explore the world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) through Making. Projects will be determined by the age of the participants but may include - designing drawing machines, using chemistry to create art, discovering material science as we experiment with concrete, creating mechanical structures, simple coding and much more.
